报告人简介

Jon Harbor is a Professor and Head of the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University and also serves as Interim Director of Purdue's Global Sustainability Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (U.K.), a Fellow of Purdue’s Teaching Academy, and was inducted in to the university’s “Book of Great Teachers” in 2008. Professor Harbor is a member of several disciplinary societies, and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American Geophysical Union Heads and Chairs Board and is a past chair of the Geomorphology Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers. Professor Harbor has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers (Nature, Earth-Science Reviews, EPSL, QSR, etc.), book chapters, and monographs. He is the Surface Processes Editor for Earth-Science Reviews. His research interests are in glacial geology, applied hydrology and environmental education, and he currently co-directs an international research team focused on reconstructing past changes of glaciers in the mountains of Central Asia and the Tibetan Plateau.

Natacha Gribenski is currently doing her PhD studies at Stockholm University. She has a BSc Degree in Environmental Sciences and a MSc Degree in Physical Geography from Université Denis Diderot, Paris, France. In her undergraduate thesis she successfully applied Terrestrial Cosmogenic Nuclide (TCN) analysis to determine ages of giant landslides in Nepal. For her PhD she will work on method comparison between TCN analysis, Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) techniques and Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) analysis on glacial deposits from the Tian Shan, Altai and Kunlun Shan.
